BSCC 3rd XI won the toss and elected to bat first on a very windy day, an excuse our bowlers would use throughout the innings. After a poor start from us with the ball Stortford were well on top, and despite a fight back from T.Snelling, who was the pick of the bowlers, they eased to 214 in their 40 overs.
It was a similar story with the bat, opener R. McGurk was removed just three balls into the innings. This set the tone for the Hall really as batsmen fell at regular intervals with only Z.Nazir (42) and H. Merrick (39) showing any resistance. SHECC fell 17 runs short of the target after the 40 overs.
All in all, a bad day at the office. Let's hope that next week will be better. We are up against league leaders Matching Green.
