Match report Hall's mixture of youth and experience were put into the field by Thaxted's captain Waring. This decision seemed to back fire when Seb, who bowled very well, clean bowled the captain with no score on the board. Willo claimed three wickets coming up the hill also, as Hall made a good start. Wickets fell at regular intervals with Dutchy claiming 3 wickets, after he stopped worrying about his sore hand, and JT bowled very well on debut. Sowts and Big Rich also got in the act as Hall bowled Thaxted out for 128, with Gent the only batsman troubling the scorers.

Mauley and Nicko went about chasing down the total and rolled back the years with some good cricketing shots. Many of those waiting in the pavillion were urging Nicko to pull out his world renowned reverse sweep, but were left disappointed by the end of play. Both batsman made 50's at a good rate and finished the job off early for Hall.
