Match report Thank you to everyone who played on Saturday. It is never easy to be competitive when you have less than 11 players and so this proved. The match was over inside 26 overs.

We lost the toss and were inserted. We had a much stronger bowling side, and given the choice I would have elected to bowl.

Early wickets fell steadily. We lost our first wicket in the second over and it wasn’t long before we were 12/4. Peter Page (24) & Stuart Thomas (12) showed some good resistance, but given our poor start we were always going to find it difficult to prolong our innings. Harlow Town had a decent bowling attack despite missing some key players.

Isaac Maginn (3-0-21-1) bowled well and fully deserved his wicket. Tom Kay (1-0-4-0) bowled a very good over.

Thank you to Matt Searson and Laurence Poles for turning out for us. It was disappointing we couldn’t get 11 players on the pitch, but it would have been embarrassing to play with 7.

We got 1 bonus point. It might not seem like much, but every bonus point is valuable. With the poor availability we had this week it seemed ike we had secured 11 when we came off the pitch. Like I have said previously, had we have forfeited it would have been a long and tough road back.

We are halfway through the season and we have 64 points. We have a small mountain to climb as we are 27 points behind the next placed team. We can make up that difference, but it won’t be easy.
