Match report The result of this match does not reflect the match itself, with the weather making a huge difference. We batted first and posted a decent total (although maybe 10 or 20 short of hoped). With many of the top order having little match practise it was pleasing that they all made starts. Matt Dinley top scored with 43 and his partnership with Ian laird included some fantastic running between the wickets. The last couple of overs could have been more productive. During tea it began to drizzle and it never really stopped. We took to the field and the openers bowled very well. Nick Wrathall being very economic. The rain proceeded to get heavier, the ball got wet and the pitch slippery, so it is a real credit to the club how the team stuck at it, with no complaints. Bowling became harder and the edges (of which there were a lot!) all went into gaps. Tom Wasley's bowling was quick and very accurate and he was unlucky not to pick up a wicket.
A very promising start to the season.
