Cricket is finally back as 1st XI defeat Little Hallingbury

20 Jul 2020

A brilliant opening spell from J. Woollerson (2/14) set the tone for the Hall as wickets continued to tumble with regularity, during the Little Hallingbury innings.

Despite losing the toss, Stansted Hall's bowling and fielding saw us well on top throughout the first innings. Two direct hit runouts, a catch and two wickets for the Hannam twins helped cement their place as the best twins ever to play for the club. An excellent late spell from T.Snelling (3/17) wrapped up their innings well before the 35 over mark.

SHECC made quick work of the 101 Little Hallingbury had set as a target with R. McGurk smashing his way to 64 off 33 balls. H. Merrick (28*) joined him at the crease to see us over the line (whilst playing for his average).

Next week the 1st XI take the trip to Potter Street.
